Cake Bake Shop Announces Second Location at Carmel City Center

Local bakery and cafe, The Cake Bake Shop has announced plans to open a second location at Carmel City Center. The new restaurant will be in the yet-to-be-finished Baldwin building. The original location for The Cake Bake Shop is located in Broad Ripple in Indianapolis.
The Cake Bake Shop is a café and dessert shop serving soups, salads and other savory items, in addition to a wide array of exquisite and award-winning desserts. They make several different cakes every day, with many flavors rotating by season. One cake that is always on the menu is the Earls Court Chocolate Cake, which has earned them numerous accolades, including Best Cake at London’s Cake and Bake Show. They also present daily a selection of cookies, bars and pastries, as well as an array of seasonal pies.
Gwendolyn Rogers is the owner and founder of The Cake Bake Shop, having opened in Broad Ripple on Carrollton Ave., in 2014. The remodeled bungalow is a tucked-away treasure, serving beautiful and delicious treats in a sparkling, elegant space. It is the perfect place to pop in for an afternoon coffee and macaron, or to celebrate a milestone or special occasion, with cake and champagne.
“I am so grateful to have this opportunity to work with Pedcor and build my second location in Carmel City Center.  This is a dream come true. To design, build, decorate and create a world that is filled with beautiful things from the food to the holiday decorations.  I am the most excited about having a large enough kitchen to make all the yummy things I want to make. I have been waiting to make Beignets and Pommes Frites for three years now, I can’t wait!  I look forward to sharing this special place with everyone who walks through the door,” said Gwendolyn, owner/founder of The Cake Bake Shop.
The Cake Bake Shop at Carmel City Center will retain the intimate, elegant charm of the original spot, while adding twice as much square footage, along with outdoor dining and plenty of free parking. They plan to open in the fall of 2018.
“We are so pleased to have The Cake Bake Shop join our premier tenant mix at Carmel City Center. It will be a destination spot for many – to celebrate everything from special occasions to the everyday treat, and we are eager to celebrate with them,” said Melissa Averitt, senior vice president at Pedcor Companies.
The Cake Bake Shop will occupy over 3,600 square feet of the plaza level on the south side of Hanover Square, in the northwest corner of the Baldwin & Chambers buildings at Carmel City Center. Surface parking is available on plaza level (accessible from City Center Drive), in the underground garage (accessible from Range Line Road as well as City Center Drive) and in the newly opened Veterans Way garage.
